AMRA (Q) 2011 Christmas Party
The Christmas party on Saturday 26th November was well attended (50 approx. in total) Thanks you to all the ladies & members who cooked, served, cleaned & washed up, and generally helped.
President Report:
Peter welcomed everyone and also welcomed the newest member of the committee Luke Hill. He & Rusty Smith also announced where we are going with the 2013 Brisbane Model Railway Show. The show will be at the DOOMBEN Racecourse as the RNA would be unavailable for the Labour Day Weekend and the halls were due be demolished and redeveloped. The advantages of the Racecourse are that we have free parking, no worries about security, venue is as big as the RNA and there is council buses and QR services Saturday only. Peter said to put out the word that although we will finish at the RNA in 2012, we will be at Doomben from 2013.
We had several door prizes that were raffled off, including a Christmas Pack from Councillor Victoria Newton. All in all a great night.
