Queensland Modellers

               Queensland Modelling at AMRA Zillmere.

The various layouts at AMRA Zillmere’s clubrooms and grounds can cater for a wide variety of scale/gauge combinations as noted in the list below and a lot of these combinations can be seen at our monthly gatherings of Qld. Modellers on either the first Sunday of the even numbered month or the first Saturday (usually) of the odd numbered month.

These meetings bring together a diverse range of models of Queensland themed subjects which are run and displayed for their owners and others to share and appreciate. The meetings are run with a very low-key approach to any formalities and it is not uncommon to see some members sitting around the table discussing their latest projects or browsing through the range of railway related magazines available. Others can be found around the layouts running their models and sorting out any problems. The library is another meeting area and source of information which gets well used also.

The well stocked canteen/kitchen (pies, frozen meals, ice-creams, soft drinks, chips, chocolates, tea and coffee) is another popular area with members and is always busy.

The Sunday meeting usually starts around 10:30/11:00am and finishes any time from 4:00pm on. The Saturday meetings are a normal AMRA meeting day and the club is open from around 9:00am on, finishing around 4:00/4:30pm. Come along and see the Queensland modelling at AMRA Zillmere, the only requirement is to enjoy yourself!

Running all types of Queensland’s trains is not limited to these special meetings, members can run at other ordinary meetings as well, where possible, if required.
